Introduction
There is no longer a need to obtain a domain, commission a website design and then find a host for your website. At The Website Designers, we offer our customers a low cost rental option, using simple, professional designs that work, whilst creating the right image for your company. You can choose from a perfectly acceptable, in most cases, web page or a larger website. The choice is yours and we will not attempt to sell you something you don’t want or don’t need. We aim to minimise the upfront costs associated with website design, hosting and search engine listings.
Included in our prices will be a listing in 3 web directories, these are regularly visited by the major search engines and will maximise the opportunity of your website being indexed quickly by the search engines.
A standard listing in these directories would normally cost a total of £60, we provide this free of charge. In addition, these directories will provide you with valuable backlinks, which are an important measurement used by search engines to determine site quality.

Buying will be cheaper?
Well not necessarily! The usual process when you are looking to set up your first website is to find a suitable domain, secure and pay for it. Depending on the domain extension, this can cost up to £40 per annum. You then need to find a website designer and a host for your website, some designers also offer hosting, but using the same company to provide both services can often be more expensive than finding a seperate host. Typically is will cost around £60 per annum to have your website hosted. Design costs for new websites can cost around £500, plus £100 for each additional page, sometimes this will be much higher.
More often than not, most businesses actually struggle to fill 5 pages, therefore the information is repetitive or uneccesary and you end up spending far more than you need. The bottom line is a well optimised single page website will, in most cases, provide a better return on your investment than a much larger website. Website designers want to maximise their revenues because you will probably only use them once! No all, but a good number of them.

Design my own website
Yes you could and many people do. There are a couple of ways you could do this, one method is to by an off the shelf website design package or an our of the box website. The former will take a long time to master and is probably not practicable and the latter is very limited in terms of what you can do. Equally, none of these options actually help you get your site indexed with the search engines and if something goes wrong you are on your own.
Another method is to buy a template or find a host that will allow you to design your own website with software loaded onto their servers. Again, some people do this, but it can be time consuming and the jargon is often confusing, however, it works well for those with a limited budget and cannot or do not want to spend hundreds of pounds commissioning a website from a independent supplier. But now, The Website Designers have introduced a package that has the best of all worlds. Low initial costs, professional design, low level search engine optimisation and a small annual fee which includes maintenance and hosting.

Website or Web Page?
Clearly the choice is yours and it may well depend on your budget, your type of business or perhaps, a combination of the two. All search engines place more emphasis on the index (front) page and if this is optimised with using keywords related to your products or services, it can be just as effective as a website with multiple pages.
If, for example, you are a plumber, electrician, book keeper, locksmith, you may well find that all you need is a comprehensive single page website with a ‘contact us’ page for internet enquiries. However, if you provide a multitude of product sets or services, you may want to have a different page outliming each product set or service. Alternatively, you may want your website to be your online brochure. It is very much a case of horses for courses. With The Website Designers, there is no reason why you can’t start with a single page and upgrade at later date, without changing your domain name.
You can opt for more than one single page website to maximise impact by region, product or service.
